Benefits of Affliction—Tries Our Sincerity

But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.

Job 23:10

Though sorrows rise, and dangers roll

In waves of darkness o'er my soul;

Though friends are false, and love decays,

And few and evil are my days—
